Louis Tortell

Louis Tortell (1909 – 1998) was a prolific photographer who was active for several decades, spanning the Second World War. He resided at 2 Għar Il-Lembi Street, Sliema. After several posts within the Maltese government, he was awarded the Defence Medal after the Second World War, and he retired from government service in 1969, and devoted his retirement to photography. The collection is still covered by copyright in its entirety.
